Concept to Podcast: Tjaden's 4-Day Rapid Launch

Show concept, Logo and Branding, Recording and Published to Apple & Spotify

Hey Creators,

In this week's newsletter, we dive into the fascinating story of Tjaden Brewer, who recently took a surprising leap into the world of podcasting.

Tjaden didn't invest in any equipment. He didn't have a microphone or headphones, which caused an echo in our audio.

However, more importantly, he now has a brand new marketing opportunity if he decides to continue podcasting.

Initially hesitant and worried about what others might think, Tjaden bravely stepped outside his comfort zone to explore a new avenue of creativity.

Tjaden admitted to feeling apprehensive about the whole endeavor. "I was worried what people would think if I started a podcast," he confessed.

The skateboard industry is dominated by a handful of major players, and Tjaden was concerned about being ostracized if he launched a podcast. They had essentially claimed the space as their own.

"I was concerned that I would be judged for trying something new." This fear of judgment is something many of us can relate to when venturing into unfamiliar territory.

However, Tjaden’s experience turned out to be far more positive than he anticipated.

He discovered a newfound appreciation for the podcasting process, finding it less difficult and more enjoyable than he initially imagined. "It wasn't as hard as I thought," he remarked.

It's also beneficial to have a knowledgeable guide to assist you throughout the process.

This shift in perspective highlights an important lesson: sometimes, the things we fear the most turn out to be surprisingly rewarding.

Embracing the Learning Curve

Like any new skill, podcasting comes with its own learning curve. Tjaden is embracing this challenge with a desire for continuous improvement. He's actively seeking feedback and making adjustments along the way, proving that growth and learning are ongoing processes.

"I want to get better with each recording and tweak things," he shared, demonstrating a commitment to refining his craft. He's even taking advice from his significant other to create a more engaging back-and-forth dynamic with his guests.

The After Influence: A New Series

Tjaden's podcast, 'The After Influence,' is now available on Spotify and Apple. I mentored Tjaden for the interview, and he asked me about my snowboarding experience and how it contributed to my podcasting career.

The echo was caused by Tjaden not wearing headphones. The podcast was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and I recommended that Tjaden invest in headphones and a microphone if he planned to continue.

‘The After Influence’ is Tjaden’s new podcast about a career after a passion. I helped him set it up, but will he continue it? Only time will tell.
